Welcome to my week one update for #writerrecharge. If you want more info– and it is not too late to get started! —click here for details

From last week to now was a million miles long. At least that is the way it felt. I have never done a marathon, but it couldn’t be any more challenging!

I kept a spreadsheet of what I turned out and believe me, no grass grew under my feet. I must add for those who are counting – I have a real world job as well as writing, so I do feel as though I accomplished quite a bit.

Tuesday was my best writing day, and Friday night the worst. I spent preparing for and hosting a radio show on Friday so it was probably my lightest day for writing.

#writerrecharge word count attempted 1,750
#writerrecharge word count produced 2,239
This word count includes actual writing on two stories, 40 pages worth of critiques of my friend’s manuscript, blogging, promotion of Tales from the Unseelie Court, and outlining my next book. This count does not include general posts on FB or Twitter or the writer’s forums I am on, nor does it include anything to do with Pinterest.

I also finished reading one book- one prologue to another- and about 20 pages of a third.

Week Two goals:
250 words written at least five days of this week.
Reading 20 pages of a book (trying to finish a rather large one)
Get at least another five chapters outlined of next book.

When we look at what we did over a week, we can see that each day is a special event when it comes to doing what we love. I am looking forward to checking out the blogs of all my friends who are participating in #writerrecharge. Hope you have a great week!

  1. Wow, sounds like you have a lot going on! I am a huge fan of spreadsheets. 🙂 Congratulations on doing so well this past week. Hope this week treats you just as well!

  2. Nice work on your goals this week! I’m with you on the job outside of writing thing, so I didn’t get as much time in last week as I would’ve like. Here’s to hoping for more progress this week!

  3. Ah, the real world jobs. If only we could scoot those aside and do what we really want! Nice work on exceeding your word count goals. I commend you for outlining chapters. That is not how my brain works, though I wish it was. 🙂

  4. Great job on the word count. I know what it feels like to have lots of pokers in the fire and your accomplishments deserve a pat on the back! Keep Moving Forward:-)

  5. Hosting a radio show! That’s so cool. I don’t think I have the chops for it. Awesome job in getting some writing done, along with reading. Good luck with next week’s goals!
