I love reading book series. Mystery, romance, thriller, sci-fi, or fantasy. doesn’t matter to me. I am avid about them. But I’m beginning to feel like after the third book, the writer is trying too hard to keep things rolling. Some writers are good about making each book in their series as close to a standalone as you can get without being one. But recently, some writers I read have fallen short. And it’s sad because reading about familiar characters and their escapades always gives me a sense of enjoyment. But sometimes now, the series is SOOOOO long and overgrown
