Sick and cannot write? Join the club!

Have you been sick?
Well, it’s March and it is simply madness! My greatest apologies for my lack of updates. I took ill and have been battling the flu and bronchitis for weeks now. Sometimes you just cannot stand to do more than the norm. I have felt like that.
You haven’t missed a thing, either.
I haven’t written more than ten words in months.
It’s just difficult when you don’t feel well.

So, my question to you is:
What do you do when you are sick and need to get your word count in? What is your special sauce to get in the writing chair?
I will bet that those authors on deadline just don’t have the luxury of putting a pause on it all. That deadline runs the show.
But for those indie authors who maybe do not have a dead line…what do you do?
Is pushing through an option? Do you just take it easy with writing and do some editing instead?
I would worry that my editing would consist of moving words around on the page and nothing of real substance. It’s hard to be creative when your head pounds, and your body aches, and every breath wants to end in a cough wracking your body.
If you have been a victim of this year’s flu outbreak, I salute you. I had my flu shot in October and in February, got the stoopid flu. Apparently, it wasn’t very effective this year. Go figure.
Guess I am glad I got it though. I might have been way sicker. Although that would be pretty hard.
At any rate, I am back in the chair now, and hopefully will have a great lot more to share soon.
Until next time, y’all wash those hands and cover your mouth!
