March 1 is National Peanut Butter Day

Don’t you think it is funny how there is a national day for everything? I do. But I do think it is cool to have a national peanut butter day. I am a true aficionado. I loooooooooooove peanut butter. I love every variety even the kind with jelly already in it.

So in honor of National Peanut Butter Day, let me write a poem which is befitting such an event.

Dear creamy concoction that I love so well
your peanutty taste and your rich odorous smell
lives long in my heart as a matter of taste
that no one should squander, no one should waste.

O peanut butter may your jar never break
may you always be there ready to take
to a job much too busy to indulge in a lunch
rather peanut butter and crackers are there for a munch.

Or a sandwich of bread and nut butter so sweet
none can compete with you, no one can beat
and I love you so much that I sing all your praise,
and I will o peanut butter until the end of my days.

(okay, so a poet I ain’t-but PBandJ is still very great)
