Day one: The END…or is it?
This is my last post for the 25 day challenge. I have come down to the Gulf on writer’s retreat, and the trip was absolutely fun and the rental is just GLORIOUS. I cannot stress how much I am impressed with this place. It is an old house that has been refurbished. It has a wrap around porch, and a back deck complete with grill and lawn furniture to while away the hours sunbathing.
The entry room is a massive ten foot ceiling’ed monstrosity of a room with comfy couches and big screen tv.
Off to the left of it is a smaller sitting/reading room that doubles as a bedroom with a sleeper sofa in it and plenty of desk space and book shelves.
Off the other end of the living room is the formal dining room
and off that is the kitchen, completely modern and completely huge and comfy for cooking and dining. The kitchen has a big table and also a bar area with enough room for three people to sit at it WITH laptops and it has electricity for exactly that. I cannot wait to dig into my morning coffee sitting there or out on that luxurious porch!
There are two bedrooms off the living room and kitchen area and a staircase going up to the second level where there is a massive bedroom with big shower bath, and washing machine/dryer area. All the furnishings are antique including a Tiffany lamp or a really good faux makeup. My bed is a huge cherry rice bed with plenty of pillows and it has a nice bath off it and goes straight into the kitchen. I can see that bar from where I sit on the bed. Talk about coffee calling!
I tell you I could live here forever. It is a writer’s dream come true and I am CERTAIN it will be a retreat place annually as we all are in love with it.
So my final post for the challenge is done, but it is really just the beginning for my writing journey. I hope you have great success at tweaking your muse in some way. And if you are ever in Gulfport, be sure to investigate a stay at the Historic Harrison House. You will not be sorry!
