Your writing: Go for it, right?

My very first foray into writing was in grade school. We had to write about the pilgrims as a Thanksgiving project. I remember drawing the cover to the “book”,  writing their “story” on the wide-lined pages inside, and finishing it with construction paper. I do not think it got any awards, aside from the ones my mama gave me. Thirty years later. when I expressed the desire to write a book,  she pulled it out and showed it to me.
