More con stuff…

More con stuff…

In case you have never attended a con, there is a lot to do and see. I have been a lot of years, and so many times never even go into anything but the writer’s track. This part of MSC is something not EVERY con has, so if I ever go to another one, I will partake of all the other festivities. But I digress… So, the first workshop I attended was Elements to becoming a successful Author. It was held at 9:00 AM and as you may imagine had a lot of Monster Energy drinks in attendance. The authors

Writing accountability or who’s keeping you on track?

Stuck in Customs / Foter / CC BY-NC-SA A post about writing accountability is way overdue, I think. I recently participated in a writing challenge with the #writerrecharge. It was a great way to stay on track and get the word count out each day. I miss it. I didn’t sign up for the latest challenge, Spring Writing Bootcamp because I thought I would be too busy. ha! I don’t think I have written any new work since #writerrecharge ended. I regret not getting in on SWB but there is hope for me yet. I am going to Mid South

What will 2014 hold?

I am a deep thinker sometimes. I contemplate far into the future and try to make plans. I never thought I’d be a little OCD about it, but the older I get the worst I become. I sort of face a new year with trepidation. What will happen in 2014? When it comes to writing, I know I will be busy. I have enough work already on my plate to keep me going until 2015! And while I’m talking about it, I am not a lazy person. I do not really procrastinate as regularly as I sound like I do.

Stop the presses! Help save the wolves!

Wildlife preservation is not for anyone special-it’s for everyone- period. so….this post isn’t about me, or even about my books. SHRREEEKKKKKCHHH! This time I am posting on behalf of something I love even more than my own horn tooting. It’s wildlife preservation, and we all should be helping out. Here is a little video of one of my near and dear agencies. Please consider giving to them if you are looking for a charity to give to this year end. I thank you and believe me, the WOLVES thank you!

Jumping off the cliff

While I am following my goal list I have encountered a bit of a new twist. The book is at 86,000+ words already and this rewrite is growing it fast. It is a YA fantasy, and therefore expected to be a little on the high end of page count (more like 60-65K), but certainly not as big as an adult fantasy. I worry that too much world-building will make for such a massive book that it won’t be accepted anywhere. I guess I could add in all the world-building (this IS the rewrite after all) — and then cut the
