Balance in a writer’s life

Balance in a writer’s life is a hard thing to acccomplish.

So, I am trying to learn something about work-life balance. I have never really put forth a lot of effort into organizing my life. I never journaled before this year. But now I journal every day. It’s a way to keep my thoughts focused on what is happening in my life. If you have not tried it, believe me, you should.

I am also considering making a spreadsheet to capture my financial picture (writing-life wise). I recently heard a podcast guest say that it is sort of therapeutic to have a snapshot of where your money is coming from and where it is going to. It helps you see where you are going as a writer. I believe that my scales are really tipping in a positive direction. My financial balance is looking well.

There are quite a few things I should be doing as an author including monitoring my health better. I haven’t been exercising like I should. I really think that a nice long walk outside in the cool of the evening these days would be more than just good for my heart. I need to be away from all the electronic world for a while to let my mind WORK. It’s very hard to simply THINK with all the noise of the world. Now, that is a balance every one should think about.

So, coming up in the next few weeks, you will get a new release from me! Yes – I have a Halloween release coming out likely in the next few days. I hope you are ready! It is what I have titled A Warped Mind Collection – and it is short stories and flash fiction stories, mostly on the weird, bizarro side.

I think of it as a look into the inner workings of a writer’s mind.

You have been warned.
