The Journal Of Kim Smith

The Journal Of Kim Smith

Well, I am going to have to start sharing my journal with you soon, friends. I am getting out in the world and trying new things. This week: hiking with my son. Yes, this is a great idea. No, this may not be a good thing for me. Yes, I am invested in this plan. No, I am not sure about what I am doing. Yes, I will keep you posted.

Hence, the title of my post today.

I write in a journal every day pretty much. Even when I am not posting in here, I am posting in my journal. I will be keeping up with what happens on this hiking weekend. I have learned a lot already.

Like what makes a good pair of hiking boots, and what makes a good pack.

If you are interested in hiking, there are many many great sites out there.

I have been frequenting some myself.

Like this one: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/backpacking-beginners.html

And if you are interested in being Survivalist/Prepper here is a cool link from Alex over here at Authorized Boots

I will tell you though, there is like someone else’s blog who has gone on a trek or a hike and come back to talk about it. You get so information from them that you just cannot get from a sales page.

Yes, blogs are STILL important. Even those who have been out of service for a few years. The info is still good and informative even when it isn’t recent. I mean come on, a retelling of how to treat a blister gained from a day-long hike is still just as relevant today as it was in 2010. Although there may well be newer remedies for it.

So, in short, for the next while, I will be posting up some stuff from my diary because I won’t be near a computer. Isn’t writing in long-hand wonderful? It’s really an exercise to get it from mind to paper and still be able to read it.

Well, my handwriting anyway!

That’s it for today, friends. Come on back and hear my tale of how I got hiking boots at a 70% discount.
