Kim Smith, author – page update

Hurricane Dorian was a no show

Thank you for being a part of the Kim Smith, author family. I know I have gone out and stretched your patience to its utter limits by not being active online. There is a reason for that though, and I hope you will follow along here to find out more.

So, in our LAST post – I said I was going to send out a newsletter to the Zanies, and I didn’t do it. Sorry, you guys, life is a beach and are we having fun yet?

I also talked about other neat stuff like adding to your book collection and you can check out that post here LAST POST.

Since that post, well, all I can say is HURRICANE DORIAN. Do I need to say more? My life went from slightly off-balance to utterly crazy in one heavy-handed move.

My partner and I traveled almost 1700 miles in four days. It was great in that I did get to see my kids and grand-kids. The travel was weary on the mind and body however, but thanks to vitamins and energy drinks, I am here to tell the tale.

I have not let any grass grow under my feet though.

I have been quickly working on my YA fantasy, in hopes of sending it out. Yes, I am going to try once again to get a NY publishing contract. I think this one is worth it. It’s a great story, and it’s different from anything I have ever written, and also, ever seen out there. I am excited.

I may post up an excerpt. I have been working on a cover – just in case I once again change my mind and decide to publish indie for it.

I would like to set a deadline for myself to get it finished, but find those are really difficult to keep, so I am going to shoot for two pages a day, at least four days a week. So far, this has been happening.

Now, looking forward, I want to remind you that my short story with Shannon and Dwayne, IN THE SHADOWS, is ready for your reading pleasure at a mere .99 cents. Be sure to plan to get it for your Halloween reading.

You can get it here: IN THE SHADOWS

You can also check it out on my books page here on the website.

Well, that is about it for now, y’all. I hope you will keep me honest and hunt me up when a lot of time passes and I don’t post. I need reminding sometimes!
